They used a simple switch technique that made it seem as though there was more there than there really was. The only thing that happened here was that they had to review and rerecord their standings financially speaking. This meant that they were under constant scrutiny and therefore one more mistake can result in dire consequences for those involved in accounting or at the top.

5. Xerox: Another case of inflating revenue that wasn’t really there, this big company felt the consequences. They had to take a long hard look at how this happened and some people lost their jobs. This took place over the course of five years so there was much work to be done and much scrutiny by the IRS.
